here is the update…  I am finishing up this project with an evening shoot this Thursday, so I will post one of those once complete but here are a couple of this beautiful home!

The first photograph was taken from the study which is connected with the billiard room.  In this shot I only had to use two strobes because there was just a flood of light that poured in from the bank of windows at my back.  So the study was lit naturally but the distant billiard room needed help.   The first strobe was placed directly at camera right, helping to light the foreground and the second was placed around the corner against the book case and made to look like a window existed in that area.   This strobe was set at a little stronger power so that I could lead the viewers eye into the frame.

The second shot was taken in the master bedroom, looking out in this amazing sitting area they had.  This shot I wanted to be slightly more intimate so I didn’t dial up the strobe in the distant space as I normally would have.  This was actually lit with three strobes, one camera left lighting the master bedroom and two softly placed strobes on either side of the door in the sitting area to provide detail in the distant space.

I loved this entrance!  I lit it with three strobes;  one to camera left, over my shoulder, one in the formal dining room and the third up the stairs allowing all that beautiful light to flow down stairs.  The strobe placed at the top of the stairs was set a little more powerful (as you can see) than the other  two strobes to  invite the viewers eye to move through the image up the stairs.

Check out these living areas; which I just love the flow of!  These rooms were slightly more complicated to light however it helped that there was just a massive wall of windows at my back over looking their beautiful swimming pool.  So in this scene I used four strobes; one behind camera right, one inside the study on the other side of the see-through fire place, one in the breakfast area, out of the scene, made to look like sunlight streaming into the room and the final strobe in the kitchen. The composition allows the eye to move freely and wander around the image.

Ok so I really did like the clean lines of this master bath!  This is a zero point composition where I used three strobes.  I wished I had used four strobes in this scene because the tub could use a little light in it but it still works.  So the three strobes, one over camera right one around the corner in the power area and the final strobe in the shower.  I wanted the glass of the shower to pop! 

**UPDATE**   This was a BEAUTIFUL property and home to a sport celebrity… To say I enjoyed photographing this estate would be an understatement!   As promised, here are a few from the photoshoot!  BTW – Check out the size of that bathtub, you could get six people in that thing!!
